They do, but what else could I do! I still don't know why I needed to do
this on more than one occasion and nobdoy seems to be telling me <GRINS> so,
if it works then leave well alone; if not, do all you know might fix and,
if not, send back to the maker! <SMILE>

Hi Carol,
Thanks for that tip. It worked. Interesting that the upgrade
instructions specifically state "skip the steps referring to downloading
and installing the product key."
Thanks,
Richard

Richard, it's happened to me a couple of times now. I just re-ran the key
for version 7 when it happened and then re-installed the software.
The Licence key will be Keysoft version 7 upgrade key XXXX (etc) which
will be the serial number.
If you don't have this file, here's part of some instructions sent
earlier:
1. On a PC or your BrailleNote, go to
http://www.humanware.com/7_0.
Click on
the
link called "Product Key Download".
2. In the first input field, type your BrailleNote's 5 digit serial
number.
This
is in Braille on the bottom of your BrailleNote and can also be accessed
from
within Keysoft. From the Main Menu Press SPACE with dots 2-4 (READ with I
on
Qwerty) and press the spacebar twice.
3. The next field is a password field - type frog1.
4. Click on the "logon" button.
5. On the page that appears, there is a group of radio buttons. The last
one
is
called KeySoft 7.0 key. Check this button then click on the "download"
button
below it.
6. On the page that then appears, follow the link called "Click here to
Download
package". A File Download window appears - click on the "save" button.
We recommend that you save it to your PC's desktop, or if using your
BrailleNote, to the upgrade SD card. The file is called KeySoft 7.0
Product
Key
(xxxxx).exe where xxxxx is your serial number. Remember, this is not the
upgrade
itself, just the product key.

Subject: [Braillenote] Pk and 7.01 upgrade
I have a PK, running KeySoft 7.0.
I just down loaded the 7.01 file and the BrailleNote PK upgrader file.
I re-read the instructions to make sure I did the steps correctly.
After the command line prompt, I hit enter and it said, and I quote, "you
are not licensed to run Keysoft 7."
Remember, the PK is running KeySoft 7.
I left a voice mail message with Humanware Support a couple of hours ago.
I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
