Hi Rose,
After you did the 46 reset, did you type a b before doing the 45
reset?

Well, I now downloaded the boot loader file and tried to start
with a 4,6
reset, I get a menu which I ignored and pressed a 4,5 reset,
still am
getting the SD card error. I then did a service reset on the
unit, tried
the scenario again, same verdict. Then I tried just a 4,5 reset
and still
the same thing.
SD card error, and yes, I can look at the files on the card on my
computer
and in file manager on the Braille note.
If I had time tomorrow I'd call tech support but with my hearing
loss on
one side I cannot manage to work with the phone and the computer
and braille
note all at once. My answer needs to come from the list, not the
phone.
It has been formatted three times today, so I guess the upgrade
is not for
me at this point.

Hi, what I did was download the Keysoft 7.01.exe ie nk.bin on to
my SD card.
I pressed reset with dots 46, whatever that is on a qwerty
keyboard. When I
found that something came up on the display, I pressed reset with
dots 45
whatever that is on a qwerty keyboard. I let the machine get on
with
whatever it should do for about 15 mins without touching the
Mpower. By the
time 15 mins had elapsed, the display was back at Main Menu. I
didn't
upgrade the Eboot as I was told this wasn't necessary.
Using my Mpower BT, things seem a lot better.
Cheers, Steve

OK, if I go download this file which I originally had on the SD
card the
first time I tried to do this, what am I supposed to do, this is
a puzzle to
me, I had absolutely no trouble performing the upgrade to 7 on
two units,
have never had problems with any upgrades since 2001 until now.

Hi, Terry. I had to call someone at tech support who told me to
go to the
site to download version seven. There was the boot loader.
I was surprised not see it anywhere on the 7.01 page when it was
requested
that you use it first. Once I got the loader, everything went
fine.

Paul:
I know this question has been answered however the instructions
are not good
on the site at all. For example a boot loader is not included
with the
package off the site however if your system is new you might have
the same
problems. So for anyone who it hasn't worked for here is what I
had to do.
1. download the BIN file.
Note installed on sd card got error bad card drove me crazy for
two hours.
Note: there wasn't anything wrong with the card even the prepare
disk for
upgrading worked fine.
2. Went to site and downloaded the boot loader from the site and
installed
it on card.
Note: still wouldn't work but at least I was now getting a menu.
3. rebooted the system as described was presented with a menu I
chose
install boot loader then KeySoft it worked.
At no time did the process work as described on this list or on
the
HumanWare site. Once things were installed everything worked as
expected. I
hope the information is updated because if you don't know what
your doing
and it doesn't happen to start the install then you might just
think your
system is defective. The only good thing is it didn't corrupt my
system

Hi, Gang. I went to get the 7.1 upgrade file last night.
However,
I can't
seem to find the boot loader file on the download page.
Since I already have 7.0, do I need the file?
Thanks.
