KC and all, some older cards that use five volts are not supported on the BrailleNote or VoiceNote mPower. This is not to say you can't get them to work with a bit of fiddling, but we don't officially support them. The reason for this is that with the increased power consumption of the faster processor and all the new things we can do, something had to give. Pretty much all new cards only take 3 volts, which work fine.
