I agree with both suggestions. There should be an option to show or hide camas. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin Chao" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Subject: [Braillenote] Scientific Calculator

Dear brailleNote Listserv (primarily Humanware Staff),

I know there are going to be some more additional features and functionality added to the scientific calculator, some of them including statistical functions and operation.

I actually had a comment on the way that information is inputted and information is displayed. I know that you are able to enter numbers two ways, one of them being in nemeth and the other being in literary Braille, and when you receive the result, it is always given in literary Braille. One example of this would be the, the result 9, instead of receiving dots 3 and 5, you receive dots 2 and 4. I am not really sure why you are able to input the information in both formats and solely receive it in literary Braille. I think that it should be similar to computer Braille, where you only input in computer Braille, and solely receive back computer Braille on your Braille display. Of course, this would not apply to users who are using qwerty style keyboards, or users of VoiceNotes, with an exception of being able to input values in both literary and Nemeth for the BT users. I notice that all of the numbers will remain in nemeth, until you hit the enter key, then everything magically turns into literary Braille, again I feel that it should remain nemeth from start to finish.

The second comment that I have is pertainning to values that are in the thousands, millions, and beyond. I find that it is really difficult to figure out if it is a billion, ten bbillion, etc. quickly and efficiently without some type of marker dividing it by groupings. An example of this would be the number 10000000, this is how it would be displayed on the BrailleNote, you would not know it is the number ten million, until you sit there and count the zeros and so on. A more efficient way of displaying the same set of numbers is the following: 10,000,000, it is exactly the same number, but there are commas to group all of the zeros, thus allowing for a user to quickly and efficiently conclude to the fact that the value is ten million. The users who may not experience this issue are VoiceNote users of both QT and BT keyboards, as there is no display to show that there are no commas.

Well, I thank you for reading through the two comments that I have pertainning to the scientific calculator. I do not believe that these will be implementations that are impossible, nor wil they take dramastic investigation to change.

Thank you Humanware for listening to your users, helping your users, guiding your users, and implementing features that are feasible.

Kevin
