Hi Katie,

Last summer when I was writing papers on the BN, I found that I had to
indent the paragraphs in braille for the formatting to take effect when
exporting the document to the computer as a word document. If you want to
print directly from the BN, I think formatting for braille and print is
important. Use the format menu, chord the sign. Then layout, and change the
settings for braille, next go to the format menu and go to ink print
settings and change the settings. Another setting you need to check on is
under the translation options in the file manager menu. (I think that's
where it is) Anyway in this menu, you can set whether you want a blank line
between paragraphs, and one or two spaces after a period. If you are double
spacing the document, If blank line is on, you will have four lines since it
is double spaced. Hope I haven't confused you. It is always a good idea to
have a sighted person check. I always have an assistant check my students
work for formatting before they turn it in. Sometimes errors occur by
student error, and sometimes it's because a setting needs to be changed.

Thank you, that is helpful...although, I think the tab issue is a bit
confusing.
