I am going to try to copy as much as I can from the tutorial for
those of you who are deaf-blind. It may take a while, but I hope
I can give you enough information.
In the first part of the tutorial, Jonathan mentioned it was the
20th anniversary for Keysoft.
Changes to File Manager
From the Main Menu, Jonathan has pressed the letter F. It reads,
"file manager menu". D has now been pressed to get in to the
"directory". It shows, "drive? Press Enter for Flash disk.
Enter was pressed. "Folder name? Press Enter for general."
Jonathan wrote in the word "news". Enter was pressed after
"news". When you press Space, you see "list of files in news
folder". When you find the one you want, press Enter. He had
one that was a .brf format, so he was asked, "review the
options"? Enter was pressed. It will take you right in to your
document. This can also be done with MP3 files. If you are an
mPower user, you have access to wav files, MP3U play lists, etc.
it will also work with those file extensions. Daisy Books can
also come up in the Book Reader.
Go back to Main Menu. Press F for File Manager. Press D for
Directory. "Drive? Press Enter for Flash Disk. Folder name?
Press Enter for News." If you space, you are back at the "list
of files" prompt. When you see a file you want to erase, you can
press Backspace with dots 1,4 (Ctrl I). Protect or unprotect a
file can be turned on from any file list by pressing Backspace
with P, (Ctrl with Read with P). This is a toggle function.
Files can be renamed by pressing Backspace with R, (Ctrl with R).
Files can now be marked for action. Press Space, and you will
see a file listed. To mark this file for action, press Space
with M, (Ctrl with Space). You will hear or see, "marked". If
you press Space with M (Ctrl Space) again, you will see or hear
"mark removed". Again, this is a toggle. You would press Space
to get to the next file. Any of these files can be marked for
action. You can copy, move, or erase these files. To erase
them, you can press Backspace with C, (Ctrl with I). You would
hear, "two files were selected -- confirm each file?" If you
press N, you will hear that two files were erased.
Go once again to Main Menu. Jonathan has inserted a compact
flash card. You receive the reading that the compact flash card
is ready. Again, press F for File Manager. Press D. "Drive?
Press Enter for Flash Disk." You can press C for compact flash.
"Folder name? Press Enter for none." Space to see "list of
files in None folder". Jonathan has a list of MP3's. If you
press Space, you will see the first file. Press Enter with dots
2,3,5,6 (Ctrl with Read with F). You will hear, "all files
marked." Again, this is a toggle. If you wanted to move your
files, for instance, to the Flash Disk, press Backspace M, (Ctrl
with Read with M). You will see something like "seven items
selected -- destination drive?" Press F for Flash Disk.
"destination folder name? Press Enter for None. Space to the
folder you want. Press Enter. You will read that seven files
were selected. "Confirm each file"? If you press Y, you will be
asked if it is okay to move each file. If you press N, it will
automatically move them. The word "moving" appears on the
Braille display. Remember that these are MP3's, so it takes a
little longer. All of the files being moved appear on the
Braille display, though the speech isn't working. Once this has
been completed, the speech will say that seven files have been
moved. Now, there are no files in the None folder of the Compact
Flash card.
Enough from me tonight, folks. If you're bored with this, I'll
stop, <grin>.
