Not everybody has an office so must put up with getting things delivered to
the house. It is a good way to get UPS stuff though!

Hi James and Others;
When I got my transplant, this is just why I had it sent to my office.
Either I or someone in my office would sign for it and it would be
placed right on my desk. I told others when I was expecting it and it
got to me safely.

Hello all,
One wishes the UPS guy could call you on his cell phone before knocking
on
your door or somehow let you know they are coming before they get there!
I sent in a couple of defective Bose headphones to be replaced!
Luckily,
they were replaced free even though it was two years before I could send
them in. I shipped them to Bose by Fed EX. I heard nothing more till I
got
a call from our cab company. The man was servicing a car and he found
the
two packages with my headphones in the trunk of the car he was
servicing!
He asked whether I could come by and pick them up! I asked whether a
cab
could drop them by for me since I told him I was blind and didn't drive.
I
got them that Saturday afternoon since I received the call in the
morning
from the guy servicing the car. The packages were unharmed and
unopened. I
was most fortunate that time! Apparently the UPS man may have left my
headphone packages by the air conditioner unit in the back yard. Quite
often packages are left there. Someone saw the packages sitting there
and
probably had plans to make a quick buck! Thankfully, they were
forgotten in
the trunk of the cab. Perhaps a driver saw them and put them there, who
knows?
They sound wonderful when plugged into an M-power! One pair is
approximately $150 and the other pair was approximately $300. Bose
completely replaced them! Perhaps this post will squeak by! I try to
tell
shippers to put a note on the package that it needs to be signed for.
They
don't run off when that provision is on the package. One time FED EX
left a
brand new Braille and speak in my back yard some years ago! I either
stumbled upon it myself or a friend saw it just lying in the grass!
Glad I
got it before the rains came! Unfortunately this could happen to a
Braillenote. Ann, I do understand your frustration! I think all
technology
venders should place a sign for provision on the package with expensive
equipment inside.

Hi all,
Precious, you have every right to be upset, however, I think that you
should probably contact Humanware in NZ privately before sending such
a letter to us. Keep track of when you called, who you spoke to and
what they said. There does seem to be a communications glitch in the
California office, and I'm sure that NZ is looking into it and
hopefully solving the problem. It may be that your machine's
paperwork is in process so that it couldn't be located readily.
As far as not being worked on because they hadn't received the
payment, I'm sure they must know that state government payment is far,
far, far slower than the turn-around time for BrailleNote repairs.
I'm sure they must have some means of repairing items before receiving
payment. Did your counselor send a confirming email or letter to say
that the payment was assured? You may want to check with him/her
about this part of the tangle.
Hey, if UPS could leave a package outside my back door, somewhere I
don't go too often for two days, glitches in Humanware don't surprise
me any more. If my phone company could charge me for Dish TV, then
refund the money cuz they couldn't put it up, and then, charge me
again, yes again, for the $49.95, glitches in Humanware don't surprise
me at all! Keep your cool and good hunting. Track down the BN and
keep pursuing the problem in a firm, no nonsense, assertive, way, and
you'll have your BN on time for work.
Ann P.
P.S., I decided that causing bodily harm to the UPS guy was counter
productive because I wouldn't know which one to damage. So, I'm just
sitting back and letting the company involved make a quiet and firm
demand that the next time UPS decides to leave something at my door,
they do so and notify me! The idiotic thing is that I was home, and I
heard the doorbell, but by the time I interrupted my tutoring session
and went to the front door, the creton was gone.
