I have an office but after I had an Optacon returned there once and it disappeared for two weeks, tracked to the hospital and then off the map, I won't ship to the hospital, even if it were encouraged which it isn't.

It is a good way to get UPS stuff though! Either I or someone in my office would sign for it and it would be placed right on my desk. I told others when I was expecting it and it got to me safely. I sent in a couple of defective Bose headphones to be replaced! Luckily, they were replaced free even though it was two years before I could send them in. I shipped them to Bose by Fed EX. I heard nothing more till I got a call from our cab company. The man was servicing a car and he found the two packages with my headphones in the trunk of the car he was servicing! He asked whether I could come by and pick them up! I asked whether a cab could drop them by for me since I told him I was blind and didn't drive. I got them that Saturday afternoon since I received the call in the morning from the guy servicing the car. The packages were unharmed and unopened. I was most fortunate that time! Apparently the UPS man may have left my headphone packages by the air conditioner unit in the back yard. Quite often packages are left there. Someone saw the packages sitting there and probably had plans to make a quick buck! Thankfully, they were forgotten in the trunk of the cab. Perhaps a driver saw them and put them there, who knows? They sound wonderful when plugged into an M-power! One pair is approximately $150 and the other pair was approximately $300. Bose completely replaced them! Perhaps this post will squeak by! I try to tell shippers to put a note on the package that it needs to be signed for. They don't run off when that provision is on the package. One time FED EX left a brand new Braille and speak in my back yard some years ago! I either stumbled upon it myself or a friend saw it just lying in the grass! Glad I got it before the rains came! Unfortunately this could happen to a Braillenote. Ann, I do understand your frustration! I think all technology venders should place a sign for provision on the package with expensive equipment inside. Jim Aldrich ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ann K.
