I think that, as we are such a small community with very few choices, the chance of seing the latest and greatest product come from the other side is very real. Is jonathan a new tool to bring HW customers to FS? I doubt it. Ultimately Jonathan contributed significantly to the development of what the BN is now. There are many good things about the BN that Jonathan could contribute to PM. The most significant of these is his advocacy for what is good for blind folks.
We will still have hard decisions to make when purchasing a new notetaker, maybe Jonathan will have the effect of helping to create the best of both worlds, an open platform unit which is designed for the blind, and is built on more stable hardware. It's a wonderful dream. If that comes from FS then he may bring some customers with him. I think, Jonathan or not, the company that consistently produces products to fill the current needs of blind folks will win!
