FS would have to offer a decent trade-in value if they expected a lot
of us to just abandon one product we had invested in and switch to
another. I certainly don't have a problem with embracing an open
platform, in fact I find the off-the-shelf Finereader to be superior
in character recognition to the products offered for the blind, even
though the Finereader engine is used in those.

I do like my MPower though and Rhonda is right that the machine isn't
going to change just because the person who sold it to us left, that
is, unless Humanware folds and we have broken machines on our hands
with no way of getting them repaired.

That being said, I'm happy with my MPower, am thankful to have it, and
am looking forward to the next release. And though I feel saddened at
Jonathan's leaving, he certainly can't be faulted for making decisions
that he feels are best for his family. I'm sure he will have more
opportunities, and more money of course, and I wish him well. Guess
they made him an offer that he couldn't refuse. Good luck Jonathan and
Julia.
