KC,

I had a persistent problem with getting wireless to work with my BN. No matter how hard I tried, it wouldn't work. My computer tech suggested I delete the connection configuration and try again. I did this and everything worked beautifully!

I suggest this is what you should do.

Go to options menu, type C for Connectivity menu. Space through the options till you find review an existing connection configuration and press enter. The BN will prompt configuration to look up? Press spacebar and you will see the name of your connection configuration or the first one in your list. Type backspace with dots 2 3 5 6. Erase or delete all connection configurations you may have in your BN by typing the combination above. Your BN will prompt delete record sure? Type Y for yes. Be sure you delete all of your connection configurations whether you have one or three or more. Once that is done, do the following: Type O for Options, C for connectivity, W for Wireless. The BN will prompt wireless on? Currently no. Type Y for Yes. The BN will prompt wireless ethernet network. Space through the options till you see scan for wireless networks and press enter. You will be presented with a list of available connections. In my case, I see my network and that is the only one available. It shows it is active. Press enter and you should connect if all is well and your network isn't a secure network. Press E or Z with spacebar to get back to the connectivity menu. Space till you find review an existing connection configuration and press enter. The BN prompts connection configuration to look up? Press the spacebar and you may see non preferred network. The BN created this connection configuration automatically while you scanned for networks. Press backspace with dots 1 and 4 to make any changes in your connection configuration. Press spacebar again and you will see connection configuration name? At this point I'd type a name you can remember so you can find it again should you need to do so. I usually give the configuration connection name the same name that my SSID has. The next option is Device to use: wireless Ethernet connection Space again and you will see the SSID. Backspace till you get connection configuration name and type in what you saw in the SSID field. You shouldn't have to change anything else in the configuration unless you have a wep code. This shows as use wep? Currently no. Change it to Yes, then type in the code as it is shown on the computer screen with router. On my code, I capitalized all letters.

If you go to a non secure public network, do the same procedure and you should connect immediately. If you still aren't connecting, the card may be defective or you may need a PCMCIA to flash card adaptor to try in the side slot. This might work better. For now, try the card in the back slot. Keep deleting your configuration till you get it to work if it doesn't work right away! Don't type in each field. I find when the BN creates the connection configuration automatically, I have better luck in connecting to a wireless network. My Keys are for the BT Models. If you have a dial up connection configuration, don't delete that one.

Hello Jim,

I can't get DSL to work here (we tried 3 times to date); and, Cable is too expensive.
