Hi Joseph,
Yes, I can see where that might be an issue. But what would happen if you
installed the 7.x bootloader, then the 7.2 upgrade. (Don't try this, folks,
unless you're prepared to take a risk - it might cause harm!)
And thanks for the correction, it's appreciated.

Alex,
Actually, you need 7.0 in order ot install 7.2 properly because the
bootloader is different between 6.x and 7.x. Actyally, KeySfot System Disk
(Flash and SDRAM) is flashed (rewritten), whereas new files are copied
over.

Hi,
This is all just from what I've read and my understanding, but it depends
on
how 8.0 works, and if you have an SMA.
From what I read in the upgrade instructions, if a person had a BN with
KeySoft 6 on it, they would be able to purchase KeySoft 7.2 and install it
with no issues. Everything would work, and all the features introduced in
7
would be present in 7.2. The only thing I'm not sure about is Eloquence,
but I assume this would get installed as from what I can tell the upgrade
effectively whipes and re-writes the flash/Keysoft System disk.
If you have an SMA, I don't think it's possible to skip upgrades, but that
would be an issue for HumanWare to deal with. The whole purpose of an
SMA,
though, is to get the very latest as it comes out, so why you'd want to
skip
an upgrade I don't know.
I think, and don't know, that the only reason you couldn't install 7.x on
a
machine with 5.x/4.x is because it doesn't have CE 4.2, and neither does
the
upgrade.
I hope that helps, and if anyone can correct me on any of these issues,
please do so!
Matthew

Mat;
Does this mean, I can skip 7.2 and go to 8.0 and I would have to use
both SMA features. Would I also get all features in 7.2 and 8.0?
Thanks.

Hi,
Not necessarily - it normally says the earliest version you can upgrade
from
in the upgrade instructions.

Hello,
I understand that all paid upgrades of KEYSOFT must be purchased, but
do
they all need to be sequentially installed in order for the next one
to be
fully functional?
