Also if you do a service reset, remove ALL your storage cards
and your ethernet and or wireless card. This reset may cause you
to lose all the information on your storage cards. Maybe it
won't affect the ethernet or wireless card, but why take chances.

Leslie, this Engineers' reset is known as "The Service Reset".
It is
advised that this is not carried out without the supervision of
an engineer
(IE, without contacting technical staff) because it can lead to
loss of
data. However, I would say that a number of us have done this
(because all
other resets have failed). To do this, you hold down the record
button and
the reset button and wait for the beep. You're best to plug in
the machine
first because, if the battery is low, this will not work
otherwise.
I hope you can get it going and will not need to return it.
