That's certainly very sensible, and as I experience more and more the
use of various pieces of adaptive technology, I have come to the same
conclusion: that it is better to wait before buying.

However, if we all waited, and nobody bought the upgrades until all bugs
had been ironed out, we wouldn't know about them; that is, if what
someone said about certain things not showing up during beta testing is
true.

I'm just trying to smooth some ruffled feathers. If people can't air
their frustrations on a list where other people have had similar
experiences, where else can they obtain some moral support? Perhaps
HumanWare can't or won't refund money; perhaps we should all wait; but
can't we just show a bit of compassion to a frustrated user? And is it
necessary to make snide comments like "Sour grapes!" I believe that
goes against list etiquette. If people want to send those kind of
messages, send them off-list. Better still, give the person a break and
don't send them at all.

Sorry if I'm getting on my high-horse but one of my pet hates is
bitching on lists. As one of my friends pointed out to another list,
it's okay for us to sit at a keyboard and jot out an inflammatory
message, but we don't know how it will effect someone at the other end,
especially since there is no vocal expression to go with it. Yes, we do
need to grow up, but that also means, not sending inflammatory responses
to frustrated users who choose to subscribe to this list.

Cheers!

Michele

I have been using computers since 1983, and I can't tell you how many
times I have upgraded a program only to find the new release to be
buggy. That's why when a new product or upgrade comes out, I wait
until the feeding frenzy and the griping comes to an end, then I order
the program or the upgrade. Maybe that's why I haven't experienced many
of the problems that I read about on these lists. Andy
