Well first contact your cooperating library and they will sign you up for web-Braille. Ok after that, about 24 hours later you will get an e-mail stating what your username and password are and instructions to allow your pc to open or download brf formats. Ok now when you decide to use web-Braille go to the address given in your e-mail and when you get on the nls site you have to space down several times to where it says username. Type your user name andenter, then it will ask you for your password. type that and hit enter. Now you have gotten on the page where you can either access the online catalog, Braille Book review, magazines or Braille Music.
Ok you can use first letter for whatever you want here.
do that, press enter and depending upon what you have chosen you need to use your arrow keys to access the titles of books. Once you pick a book it will say "access volume and then it will give you a location and will often ask for your user name and password again once you click on that link. Now you will be taken to a page where you have to accept the terms that the big fat uncle has laid down that you won't turn around and sell your book to the library for the blind in la la land. Ok there are 2 I accept buttons. You want to tab to the second one which says "I accept, best for note takers." Click on that and it will take you to that particular volume. Do a save here and tell the Braille note where you want this document saved e. g. my books, compact flash, hard disk etc. Now hit enter and it will tell you saved. Now in the case of more than one volume, you have to goall the way back to the books page which on the qwerty keyboard is read with left arrow and on the Braille keyboard is backspace I think, (someone will have to help me with that one.) Ok arrow down to the next volume and you have to do the I accept for notetakers for every volume you download per Uncle Sam.
So that is how its done.
Any questions, just e-mail me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and I'll be glad to help.
Happy reading.

Subject: [Braillenote] Web-braille or Bookshare?

Hi List

I was wondering if anyone has ever downloaded books from the Web-braille website on the BN? How do you Join Web-Braille? Which is easier to navigate and use with the BN, Web-Braille or Bookshare?
