Dear Cindy, Open the Word document but don't translate it into braille. At the top of the file, go to the braille translation options menu and the braille grade menu. Type the number 1. Now, you can emboss your document in grade 1.
Any time you want to emboss a document, it must be translated into braille. If you emboss the Word document without going through the steps I mentioned, the fille will be automatically translated and embossed in grade 2. But if you go through the steps I mentioned and save the file as a KeyWord text file, then it will automatically be translated into grade 1 and embossed in grade 1.
