Hi Graham:

For the first part of your question, which is all I can respond to, what is your normal volume level set to? If you do Options, then R, and you press the space bar, if your volume level is on five, it does much better. I cannot remember if you are using the BT or the QT. If you are using the BT, does it help if you press dots 46 with Enter? On the QT, Function with Period sometimes helps.

Warm Regards,
Rhonda Clark,

Subject: [Braillenote] Two Problems With DAISY Audio in KeySoft
7.2

1. The volume of the playback in a DAISY audio book is far too
low
for comfortable listening, even at the loudest setting I can
achieve
on my mPower. I hope this can be fixed soon.

2. When you close a DAISY audio book, KeySoft does not remember
where
you stopped when you resume reading later. Reopening the book
starts
you at the beginning again. You can define a place marker to
keep
your place, but DAISY players for years have been able to resume
where you stopped without having to set a bookmark, and surely
the
knowledge exists in the software engineers in the Visuaide
component
of HumanWare to write the software to keep track of where you
stopped
listening to a DAISY book. I am surprised to find this feature
lacking in the KeySoft implementation of DAISY when it is so
common in
other implementations in Victor players.
