My unit was indeed well packaged, and for that I'm truly blessed. If
something happened during transit then maybe we might need o think of
how to make a more secure fastener for thecases or something.
My intent is not, of course, to find fault. But when you pay the
kind of money we pay for this equipment, unsnapped cases aren't cool.
Hi Gail and All,
First, I'm writing to you and the list, so you'll likely get two copies of
this message. Also, I changed the subject line slightly.
Regarding the battery adapter issue, I'm afraid I didn't ask if this was a
new charger/adapter--well, or maybe I should say I didn't ask just how new
this two piece one I received was. However, I was told that they were
recommending I used the one I received with the unit, but that the older one
piece ones would still work.
Second, when I got my unit back, it wasn't snapped securely in the case,
either. One of the snaps was in place, but the other one wasn't. And,
seeing as I rarely take the unit out of the case, I recall having to take
two or three minutes to figure out what was going on and get things lined up
again. When I picked the unit up out of the box the case kind of felt
funny, thus my noticing that the unit wasn't in there securely. Now,
whether this happened at the factory or something happened in transit, of
course I just can't say. But, otherwise, the unit was packaged well, with
all my boxes and the like being returned. Although, in my case, there was
nothing else in the mPower box, no manuals or papers anything to maybe help
hold the unit in the box, so maybe that caused the unit to shift and cause
the problem with the case. Oh, come to think of it, the AC adapter was in
its separate compartment in the box, and there was a thin sheet of something
underneath the mPower, but nothing on top of the unit to kind of hold it in
place. And, actually, this is how I shipped the unit to HW, meaning with
only the mPower in the box.

Subject: [Braillenote] A Coupleof Questions
Hi Everyone,
First of all, let me say that I'm confused. The two-piece
adapter. Is it new and improved somehow. It truly has been awhile
since I have read messages on this list. I'm behind and so this
might have already been answered. If this is the case, would someone
write me oflist?
Secondly, I got my m-power back from the Braillenote hospital today.
While I am happy to have it back and have 7.2 installed, I have had a
most unfortunate incident. I'm walking down the street and the
Braillenot falls out of the case onto concrete. It did a reset of
some sort because when I picked it up, I got the music and the signon
message of the keysoft version ETC. The snaps were not secured. I
don't like to quibble, but I would think that the unit would have
bben snapped back in the case like I sent it.
While I appreciate the Humanware support, I have had it in the shop
twice recently--once because of some bent card slots and once because
of a broken braille display pin.
Thanks in advance for your help.
