Would you please explain that in plain english for us non technical persons!
How would you get Bluetooth to work instead of a serial connection for the
braille display and speech synthesizer?

Hi Jason,

Thank you for the suggestion of expanding the braille terminal functionality
to include USB connectivity. As others have mentioned, an option that is
available and that works well is the use of an inexpensive USB to bluetooth
adaptor for the PC. This allows for the use of the BrailleNote as a
wireless braille display for the screen reader being used.

Thought I pass along the info I learned from a discussion I had with the Gw
Micro tech support staff today. I'd posted a question to them about why I
couldn't use my Braille Note as a refreshable braille display or external
synth when connected via usb. Aaron Smith explained that Window Eyes already
supports this, but Humanware hasn't yet included such support on the Braille
Note. Since I'd filled out the feedback form on Humanware's site and
mentioned this oddity even prior to contacting Gw Micro, I thanked Aaron for
his prompt response and assured him that I'd follow up with Humanware on
this, since I'm certain there's others out there wanting this as an option.
As I indicated on Humanware's feedback form and to Gw Micro, this is of
particular concern to me, since most of the computer manufacturers these
days already are phasing out serial ports on their new machines, including
an Emachine I purchased last year (I installed a pci card to add 2 serial
ports, but the problem's only going to get worse as most employers and
schools aren't going to do this on their new units).

Gun control is not about guns; it's about control.
