Well, I can't say that I know the cause, but some of us did seem to have
that from time to time with 7.0. Although, rather than the c1 c4 reset,
just the simple c3 and c4 reset seemed to bring the speech back, meaning the
two control keys on the right side of the PK. The c1 and c4 reset erases
any user stored files on the system disk, causes you to have to reset your
time zone and re-establish any ActiveSync partnership you might have with a
PC.

Subject: [Braillenote] Losing ssound on the PK

Hi, I have a PK running 7.0. I have only had it five days and I have lost
speech twice today. Both times I was editing a document using only speech,
it just happened to me now and the battery level is over 70%. When I have
lost speech I have been able to get the Braille working so have been still
able to do things. I have gone to the Media player and tried to play a song
that I know works but have gotten no sound from it. The Braille display
shows that the song is playing but there is nothing coming out of the
speaker. This also happened to me yesterday when I tried to turn on speech
after using Braille for awhile.

Things I have tried with no success is to turn off the machine and turn it
back on again, turn the speech off and on a few times. The thing that worked
is to turn off the machine using c1 and c4 and then turn it back on.

Does anyone know what might be going on? Do I need to contact my local
dealer on Tuesday (because Monday is a holiday here) and send it back?

Thanks for any help,
>From Shaz.
