Cindy,
The service contact is the one year waranty on your BrailleNote. You can
renew it at any time.

Subject: [Braillenote] service contract

I received a notice from HW today that my service contract would end on
10/10. Okay, I didn't even know that I had a service contract since I
thought voc rehab only purchased an SMA for me. Obviously, I am not
prepared to pay $500 in the next ten days. The letter states that if I do
not renew within that time the price will increase and if it is over 30 days
out that it may not cover. Can someone explain to me what the service
contract covers? Does this mean when I go to the NFB Convention I cannot
get my BN a checkup (is this what they mean by service)? How important is
this service contract? I have had it for a year and never used it, 1)
because I didn't know I had it and 2) because I have not had any real
problems with my unit.

Truely confused,
Cindy
