I use both the millennium 20 and the BN. I work a good deal
with insert mode going on the millennium, but Oh, when I want
anything written to go only at the end, that's so handy. It means
there's no changing anything in the file before the last character
without actually meaning to.

command. Sometimes that is handy just as I still want an append mode.

I am not sure why an overwrite command would be used. You can use
Ctrl comma to delete a character, and then put the right letter
back in. That's about the best way I know to do it.
