Terry,
Why? Because when I am writin very fast on the BN in my lap or
against me because the seat is a little high, my BN sometimes inserts
things elsewhere than at the end of the file. In other words, I want
to be able to lock the unit into staying at the end of a file when I
am writing fast. I am not wanting this to be a default setting.
Insert is fine. Also, being able to overwrite more than one character
at a rtime w ould be useful, again, not as default.

Kathy;
You already can append or go to the end of a file with space with 4,5,6.
Why have a new command when it can already be done?

Kandi, Append mode means that when you start writing again, the
new material will appear at the end where you left off. This was
very confusing for me when I went from the Braille ;'n Speak to a
PC, and also to this BN mPower. Now that I'm used to the mPower,
it's no big problem.
Overwrite is also a Braille ;'n Speak or Braille Lite command,
the "ow" symbol with space bar. You use it to delete and replace
a character. If you did the command twice, you'd have continuous
overwrite.
You can use this command with the BN but I believe just for one
character at a time. It's just as easy, with the BN, to use the
backspace to delete, either by itself or with dots 3-6 and the
backspace.
Hope that makes sense.
Kathy
