Hi Joseph and list, [I'm in danger of doing what I'm pleading for people not to do].
I'll only send this post once. I joined the list because I also can learn LOTS about the Braillenote and I've really appreciated the information I've picked up. What I'm referring to is the "o wow thank you's" and the "I'm really looking forward to receiving my unit" kind of messages i.e. messages that don't really add any information other than that of an appreciative personal nature to the list. Now those messages could be sent, privately, off-list, and it would help cut down the volume. The other thing, of course, is for all of us (me included) to be very accurate with our subject-lines so that if someone isn't interested in say "creating a wav file" they can delete all associated messages in that thread. Now that seems a reasonable request for any list-member to make -- unless this is a quasi-social/personal rather than product-support list. Please, list members, don't be offended by my comments, they're not meant to offend but to plead and that's hard to do in strict text-format. Best wishes to everyone and I look forward to gaining much more knowledge about the BN. Stefan. >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 27/10/2006 2:17:13 pm >>> Stefan, Sorry for the following post, but I have to say something here: As I've said a week ago, there are new and potential BN users out there who are not familiar with BN family of products. And even some of us are not technically skilled enough. As one of the list members put it, "This is one of the valuable list for me to learn more about BrailleNote family of products." When some of us (experienced users like Rhonda, James and me) received our BrailleNotes, some of us asked basic questions such as how to move with the braille display, how to use spell checker, etc. Some of us receive valuable and useful information from many people on the list, including Rhonda, James, Don, Richard Ring, and other veterans (me included, but my experty is technical information). Some of us are reminded of things that we've forgot, and MANY of us (I'm emphasizing this for clarity) receive new and useful information and tips that help us learn new things that we did not know. That is the majority reason why they are sending "thanks" messages. I hope this information may clarify your comments. > ----- Original Message ----- >From: "Stefan Slucki" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: <[email protected] >Date sent: Fri, 27 Oct 2006 13:54:32 +0930 >Subject: RE: [Braillenote] list traffic >Amen to that Terry and could people pp-ll-ee-zz-ee stop adding needless >"thanks" and such messages. >Guys administering the list, how 'bout tightening up a bit? >Stefan Slucki. >Stefan Slucki >Braille Instructor >Royal Society for the Blind >Phn 8232 4777 >[EMAIL PROTECTED] >>>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 26/10/2006 9:57:35 pm >Hi Chaman; >It sure is nice for once.
