Hello,
I have been away for a few days so haven't been able to respond to email.
I want to advance my braille display with the thumb keys and keep up with the speech without stopping the speech and having to do a read-G to start it again.

Pressing the thumb keys, seems to make the speech stop after a few lines, or paragraph, depending on how the read by line or paragraph is set. I want the reading with speech to continue until I stop it with read+space.

Thanks,

Hi Diane:

If you want to set lines, or paragraphs, while you are in a document, press Read with S. If you choose lines, and press down arrow, you can hear the speech, and hopefully be able to read it as well. I'm trying to figure it from my QT, but I don't have a Braille display. I'd love to know if it works.
Best Regards,
Have a wonderful day!

Subject: [Braillenote] reading with braille display and speech?

I am using an MPower QT running KS 7.2.

I want to read with speech, while simultaneously following along
with
my braille display. I want the speech to read continuously and I
will
manually advance the braille display.

Unfortunately, when I try to do this, the speech will only read
approximately one paragraph, or only a few lines and then stop. I
then have to start it again by pressing Read with G.

Before anyone asks me why I want to do it this way, it is because
I
process things better when I read them with braille, but the
speech
is faster. I am a student (once again) and can concentrate better
on
my boring business law book, if I am reading it and listening to
it
at the same time. The book is in a text file.

Specific Advice please?

Diane Bomar
