Joleen,
You must wait until the complete message is displayed BEFORE you emboss the second document.

Subject: [Braillenote] Embossing BN file on
Blazer Serial Port Odd Thing

Hi All,

I am embossing a six-page document that has
been formatted as a
brf document using the Blazer connected to
the BN by means of
the serial port. The document is complete
with page numbers and
appropriate spacing. Here are my steps:
1. Insert paper in Blazer with paper
positioned ready to go.
2. Turn off blazer.
3. Find the file on the BN, open it and
close it.
4. Choose emboss at the Keyword options
menu.
5. Turn on Blazer
6. Choose "y" to emboss a single copy.
7. Repeat steps 4-6 to emboss a second copy
of the document.

Here comes the mistery! If I either choose
to emboss one copy
and then immediately emboss a second copy, or
I choose to emboss
two or 3 copies at once, there appears a "7"
at the top right
corner of the first page of the second
document and third
document. I have not chosen to emboss more
than 3 copies without
turning off the Blazer, but I will now assume
that a "7" would
appear at the top, right corner of each copy
after the first
copy. From then on there are no page numbers
except for those
that are embedded in the document already. I
have checked the
Layout list on the BN and "Page Numbering" is
set to "No."
I can keep this from happening if I turn the
blazer off and then
on again after embossing a single copy of the
document.

I have seen a serial port connection put
extra dots at the top of
a document if its buffer is not emptied
before starting
embossing. That is why I turn it off.
However, it seems "smart"
to put a "7" after page "6". Then, why does
it not continue the
numbering. Better that it does not, though.

Is this a bug?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. If
this needs the
attention of tech support for a possible fix,
I would like to be
directed as to how to get their attention for
this matter.

Thanks in advance,

Joleen
