Well, I have not had a lot of success with books. This is primarily because the books I want to be scanned are cookbooks and the scannAr just does not read fractions all that well. It has my important things such as bills all kinds of records and the like but I just have not got the patience to sit and fiddle with a book and this machine. One other thing, with the ScanAr you can download things into your Braille Note and read whatever that important letter from Mr. Wright is or go over that visa bill or just read a computer generated note from your kids. It will _Not_ read hand written materials.
So this is about it for ScanAr.

Just go up on Humanware's web page. It is not made by Humanware
but it is
sold by Humanware. I have had one for 3 and a half years and love
it.
You don't have to mess with drivers or installing it into your
computer, You
simply place a document on the glass and it is extremely simple
to operate
and you have an on-board user's manual and it reads bills
fabulously. That
is mainly what I use it for. But it is one heck of a nice machine
and
probably the most trouble-free machines I have ever owned.
I can't say enough about it.
I can't remember what I paid for it but it has been worth every
penny. Oh,
in the newer ones you get Real Speak. I don't have that in mine
but it is
one dynamite little machine and another thing, when you can't
sleep at
night, plug your earphones in and read.
And it is spelled ScanAr Try that on Google but just go up on
Humanware's
site first, its in there.

Hi all.
Is ScanR a humanware product?
Is there a stand alone scanner at Humanware? I was told so, but
when I am
googling for scanR I am being taken to scan with your camera and
send to
scanR service.
Please help with scanner queries. any suggestion is welcome.
