If you have wireless, a dial-up number is not required. The BN
will not let you enter one, in fact, if you select "Wireless
Ethernet" as your "device to use" when setting up your connection
configuration.
I have had the best luck with Sandisk flash drives, (USB), and
almost any type of SD or CompactFlash card works. You will not
know for sure, however, until you try the device. Keep in mind
that some USB drives require a simple reset (from the Main Menu)
to be recognized. It is a bit annoying, but it may be worth it
for a drive with a lot of storage.
The wireless cards can be:
Ambicom WL1100C (classic, PK, mPower)
Sandisk connect + WIFI 128 Mb card (PK and mPower only).
Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] a question from a newby regarding
accesseries
Hello:
thanks all very much for the quick response to my email.
got a couple of additional questions which I would once again
appreciate the
help with.
In regards of wireless cards.
when purchasing them is there one that's recommended when
purchasing the
braille note? or does this matter?
also when connecting to check email, will i need to dialup a
phone number
to connect to the internet?
and
regarding the additional flash drives can any be used? or are
there certain
ones.
also what's the difference between the BrailleNote MPower and
Clasic?
thanks
Juan

Hola Juan,
This is Josep from the BrailleNote list. There are a number of
accessories
that you can buy:
Multilingual modules: you can install additional language
modules on your
BN. With this feature, you can view and edit text using your
primary
language and your secondary language of your choice. Ther are
French,
German, Italian, and Spanish. This is useful if you are takning
foreign
language class.
SMA (Software Maintenance Agreements): with this option, you can
access
two
additional software upgrades that require SMA. This is two
upgrades for a
price of one.
I hope this information may help you. If you have any questions,
feel free
to post it to the list. There are a lot of people who are
knoledgeable
about
BN products.
Adi`os,
Joseph
