Hi Matthew;
Are all these files in one dazy book its different chapters. You can
see I have never had my hands on a dazy book, yet. Sure am glad I
asked.
It sure is strange that an NLS book can take up so much less space, so
that means I can put all NLS books under books and have all dazy books
as separate folders in the none folder.
Thanks.
Terry Powers

Hi,

In a message entitled "Confusion about 7.2", Terry Powers wrote: "How
can you tell, by the name that they are dazy and what their
format is?"

I personally recommend that you keep each DAISY book in a separate
folder, as they are made up of so many files it can get quite
confusing when listing those files manually, and the BN may take rather
a long time to inspect a folder with lots of files in it.
This means, then, that you will have a pretty good idea what is and is
not a DAISY book by the folder structure.

To determine information about a menu or list item, if information
exists, navigate to the item and press SPACE with I (I think this
is READ with I on a QT model). In the case of a DAISY book, you are
told that it is a DAISY book, how many pages it contains, and
how long it is. I assume that if any of this information is not
applicable, it is removed; so a text only book will not have a
duration, and an audio only book will possibly not have a number of
pages.

You may be able to take a good guess at whether the book contains audio
from the folder size. I don't think you can check this on a
BN, but on a PC:
1. Navigate to the folder.
2. Press ALT+ENTER to envoke the properties dialog.
3. Activate your Screen Reader's mouse emulation cursor and move it to
the top of the window.
4. DownArrow to "Size" and take note of the result.
5. Re-Activate the normal cursor and press ESCAPE.
If the folder size is large, the book probably contains audio.
Conversely, if it is small, the book probably does not contain
audio.

I hope that helps,
Matthew
