Hi Joseph:

I thought I may be off a little bit on the volt. Thanks.

Rhonda and list,
It is actually 3.3 volts that works with the mPower.

Hi Sue:

After reading Joseph's message, something comes to mind. If
memory serves,
you need a card with a 3.5 volt.

Dear Sue,
It is because of the power requirements. Older 5 Volt cards will
not work on
the mPower. I think that Smart card is actually a 5 volt card.
I believe
that Ambicom card in question is also a 5 volt card.

Subject: [Braillenote] cards and the mpower

Good Evening list members,

My school just got the first m-power transplant. One of our high
school
students first introduction was a bit frustrating. This is
related to
compact flash cards which decided not to work.
Maybe other people have experienced this.

She had a compact flash card which she had used in a braillenote
running
5.1. We put the compact flash card in the unit and with the aid
of the
computer, transferred her files to the card. This card was
recognized in
the older unit. When we placed it in the new m-power running
7.2, we kept
getting an error message. "Card cannot be recognized, press
enter and
reinsert card." I tried cards that worked on my m-power and they
worked on
her machine.
When we examined the card it was a smart card. She had a sandis
one which
it recognized, so I copied all her files to it and she could open
her
documents. I then tried the card in my m-power and it didn't
like it
either.

Then we decided to test her ambicom card, which she used in her
unit running
6.0 before it was transplanted. Well her machine didn't like
that card
either. My m-power didn't like it either.
I think she has another wireless card to try, so I hope it works.

I know the smart card isn't on the list of cards, but why did it
work in our
old unit and not the new one?
