Instructions for Using the Braille note with the Braille Blazer Serial Port

Configure the Braille Blazer Serial Port:
1. Turn on Braille Blazer (BZ). For purposes of this article, orient the BZ so that the carrying handle is away from you, the single rocker switch is on the left, top surface of the BZ and the row of three buttons is on the right side of the top surface of the unit. 2. Simultaneously press all three buttons on the top surface of the BZ. It will say “Configuration Speech Config” 3. Press the center button three times. It will say “Serial Config”. 4. Press the button nearest you. It will say “BAUD Rate #### active.” where “####” is the BAUD Rate setting. Continue to press it until it says “nine thousand six hundred" 5. Press the middle button. It will say “Bits per character # Active”
6.      Press the button nearest you until it says “8”
7.      Press the Middle button.  It will say “Stop Bits # active”
8.      Press the button nearest you until it says “1”.
9. Press the middle button. It will say “parity ??? active” It should say “None”. If not…
10.     Press the button nearest you until it does say “None”.
11. Press the middle button. It should say “Handshake Software Active” If not…
12.     Press the button nearest you until it does say “Software”.
13.     Press the middle button 2 times.  It will say “Exit”.

At this point the BZ ins configured. Now you will need to tell it that you want it to receive information from the serial port. 1. Press all three buttons again. It will say “configuration Speech Config”.
2.      Press the middle button once.  It will say “Printer config”.
3. Press the button nearest you once. It will say “Port ???” Continue to press it until it says
"serial".
4.  Press all three keys twice.  It should say "Exit"
