Same situation here. The Toshiba Bluetooth
stack is not quite accessible with JAWS (I've
used it before, but sometimes, it's not
accessible). Try the following:
1. Press FN with o for Options/c for
Connectivity. On the Toshiba laptop, make
sure that the wireless switch is set to on.
2. On the BrailleNote, press b for
Bluetooth, and say yes to the prompt. At the
search prompt, press y.
3. After a moment, the list of Bluetooth
devices should appear. One of them should be
the Toshiba laptop. Press ENTER, and you'll
see list of services.
4. Select ActiveSync. At the pair and
activate prompt, press y. At the
authentication code prompt, type the string
you want. Then Bluetooth Manager will pop up
on the laptop that requests same code. Type
the same string you've typed and press enter.
BrailleNote should say, "active."
5. For braille terminal: go to Main
Menu/Terminal for Screen Reader. At the port
prompt, press b for Bluetooth. A message on
the laptop should say that BrailleNote is
trying to use this Bluetooth service, and
presents a window that allows you to set
whether this device is allowed to connect to
this computer/service. Press space at a
checkbox that says something like, "allow
this device to connect automatically" or
similar. Press ENTER on OK. BrailleNote
then displays "Braille Terminal." Restart
your screen reader and the BrailleNote should
display screen content.
6. For ActiveSync: Go to Main
Menu/Utilities/Misc Settings. At the
ActiveSync connection, press b for Bluetooth
and press ENTER. Press ESC and select
Connect to ActiveSync via Bluetooth option.
It should work from there.
Note: Make sure that you remember the com
port that's being used. Make sure to select
the correct Bluetooth com port when setting
up BrailleNote as a braille display. In
order to use ActiveSync, you'll need
ActiveSync installed (3.8 is recommended).
Also, the screen contents may vary (this
scenario is based on my Toshiba laptop with a
Bluetooth dongle from Kensington).

Hi listers
I have a friend who has a new mpower, running
7.2 and a new
toshiba laptop , which has bluetooth.
She wants to use the mpower as a braille
display for the laptop.
Can she do this at all, particularly using
bluetooth.
She also wants to do active sync using
bluetooth. I cant find
anything in the manual to help.
Can anybody give advice on either of these
questions.
