My BN is relatively new (September), and I keep a 4GB CF in the
unit all the time. I have always done that, though, with no
adverse effects. I do a lot of running simple JS apps with
KeyWeb, and that seems to shorten the life some (all the
calculations on the processor?) but never this much before. I
listen to music in the background sometimes, and both Braille and
speech are normally on, though speech is sometimes off. I do not
use BT or WIFI, and any USB usage is only for a max of 10
minutes.
From Support Info:
A: "Gauge is accurate. Error: plus or minus 2%"
C: "Nominal available charge: 108". (This seems to go from a low
of 93 to a high of 110, with battery level at 8% and no adapter).
D: "Last measured discharge: 1097. Design capacity: 1650"
Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: re: [Braillenote] Short battery life?
Alex,
What does a, c and d value say from Support
Info Mode? How old is your BrailleNote? Do
you use any external dchpices that draws
power?
Tip: if the designed capacity is 1800 and if
the d value says 1250 or less, then it is
time to replace the battery. If the designed
capacity is 1650 and the d value says 1150,
then it is time to replace the battery.
HTH,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] Short battery life?
Hi all:
For some reason, my mPower's battery is
suddenly not lasting long
at all. I use it during school and it goes
down to between 50 &
70%, at which point I am home and can plug it
in to charge.
Suddenly, a few days ago, my battery dropped
to 10% during
school! That has never happened before, and
there is no reason I
can think of. Suggestions?
Have a great day,
Alex
