Sorry for my ignorance here but, what does it mean to calibrate the bn?

Subject: [Braillenote] Calibration Question

Hi all,
I noticed earlier this week that my MPower BT was showing me a battery status with a recommendation for battery conditioning, so I ran it flat and recharged it. Since that didn't correct the problem, I started the recalibration process last night at around 10 PM Pacific time and it's still chattering away like crazy; good thing I have the volume very low. Two questions: how long does this process take? I've heard that it may take up to 24 hours. Secondly, is the unit effectively tied up while this is going on or can I use a typical task switching command to get me into book reader or anything else that I might want to use? Somehow I doubt that, but before I try it and stop the calibration without intending to, I thought I'd ask.

Thanks,
Tom
