I don't necessarily think it's the companies who are greedy, I just think it would be a positive thing to be able to cater to individuals in a different manner than agencies. I've seen it before, higher prices for agencies as aposed to home use. Maybe companies wouldn't be as likely to cater to agencies if there wasn't so much waste involved--people being able to call on their rehab counselors with shopping lists, no questions asked, etc. It's a positive thing that we have all of this equipment available, no doubt about that at all. But negative things need to be brought out too if there are to continue to be positive changes. And I'm sorry that some people feel bad about messages of this sort, and if those people can happily afford everything they want, wonderful. But one reason I have a need to express my thoughts on the matter is that I have some faint dots that are driving me nuts, and if my husband hears that it might cost a thousand dollars to bring my braille display up to snuff, well, that's a negative, no getting around it.
