Hi,
It certainly sounds like the back planes to me. Get it into the shop asap.

It could be that the panels in the braille display are faulty. I don't
think it's software related, but I could be wrong about that.

Subject: [Braillenote] squirly braille display
Hi folks,
I'm writing to see if any one else has had the same problems with
a
braille display.
First off, the equipment.
i've got an MPower transplant so I'm using an old display with 32
cells.
I've been having some strange problems. A few weeks ago the
display
would choose to show strange characters in the first two or three
cells. Often they were simply the correct characters, but
missing a
dot or two.
Last night I plugged in the unit as it had run down completely.
When I
turned it on the display read "starting keysoft" Then the display
went
blank. I heard two high tones and some low tones but no speech
and no
braille.
I toggled the speech on and it started talking saying the braille
display is not active or not responding or something like that.
I went to options and braille display. I hit enter and heard two
low
beeps and tot the same message. I tried to exercise the display.
It
went blank, but the kind of blank where you know the dots are
being
held down. One dot was showing in cell 1. I did several resets
finally trying to restart the display from the options menu. It
worked, bun only after a few resets, both hard and 456 resets.
It is important to note that the display would always show
"startink
keysoft" so I know without a doubt that the display is working.
Though the display is still wolking, it is not reliable.
Characters
are often displayed incorrectly.
This is not to cast blame, but all of this seems to have started
after
having had my space bar adjusted at CSUN.
Any thoughts?
Rusty
