Hello,
I have to agree with Tom in this instance.
People have been asking for a better support for word documents
for some time, and all Humanware says is that they are working on
it.
I have a monthly bulletin I write that due to problems with the
pc this month, I had to use the bn to emboss 20 copies of a eight
page document. I had created the document on the pc, so it was a
word document that I brought over to the bn.
It took me hours and several waisted pieces of paper to get the
formatting to a point where it was reasonable. It still was not
exactly the way I wanted it. these are the things that need to
be worked on, not games and fm radio.
There needs to be support for pdf documents, there needs to be
support for spreadsheets, and I don't mean bringing a csv file
into the bn and bing able to open it, I mean being able to create
a preadsheet on the bn and being able to make changes and so
forth.
The most important item that Humanware can work on, is upgrading
the ce and yes I am waiting to see what 8 will have, though I
appreciate what I have with my bn, there is no reason why I can't
want it to be better.
Just my two cents worth,
Robert Stigile

Enough already!
Stop jumping on Humanware! They are trying to add feature that
everyone wants. Just because you don't use a feature does not
mean someone else doesn't!

Hi,
JD writes:
Hello List and HW:
It just weirds me out when Key Word completely distorts a MS
Word
document.
I tried to work on some client notes while in a situation away
from my PC.
I moved copies of progress notes to a CF card and worked on them
on my
BrailleNote mPower v 7.2. then I moved them back to the PC.
And, WOW!
The 1 page document turned into 6 pages! I turned into an angry
frustration?
When will Key Word start to act more like a serious program? I
do love
this device, but I would love it to get much more solid in the
word
processing department.
Here HERE!!! JD, you just pushed my buttons, man! I've been
harping on this
for years and nothing is being done. Instead, we get games and
an FM radio
that, at least on my unit, doesn't get good reception 99% of the
time and I
don't really give a hoot in Hades about anyway. If the
BrailleNote is
supposed to integrate well with computers used for educational
and/or
business activities, we must, repeat *MUST* have a solid word
processor.
That means one that can handle anything we care to throw at it,
real
honest-to-God Word docs with tabular data or anything else we
might have
created on the PC, and one that doesn't mysteriously zap the
contents of an
important document like the one that I painstakingly labored over
for hours
yesterday, all for naught! Man, I was TICKED OFF when that
happened, and it
was darn lucky for HW tech support that I had a pressing
engagement
yesterday that I needed to tend to or someone would have gotten
an earful.
How many times do we need to tell Humanware that we have
significant issues
with Keyword before anybody will listen?
Tom
