Hi,
You need to make a change to your server specifications, and make sure that
you say yes to the question regarding server authentication.
In the field where you specify the incoming pop3 server, arrow over to the v
in verizon and insert yahoo followed by a period.
In the Outgoing or smtp server field, arrow over to the v in verizon, and
insert yahoo followed by a period.
That should fix it.

settings as in OE. I got error 171 error connecting to POP server
