My ISP doesn't require SSL. Why not find another ISP?

That's a reasonable question. But, frankly, there aren't too many other alternatives in my area that I'd want to switch to. Time Warner Cable has a rather dubious reputation at best, their customer service and support, according to people I know, is crap. I wouldn't be caught dead with them. Dsl Extreme is a possibility, but SBC/AT&T still supplies the copper wire, and I can tell you from experience that when you get two or more entities involved in DSL service, there's the inevitable finger-pointing when there's a problem. I went through that when I was on Flashcom and Covad serviced the phone lines. If there was an outage, Covad and Flashcom went back and forth for days or weeks until they finally figured out what was up. Nope, I don't need the aggravation. I'd be willing to bet that in the future other Internet providers will also implement some sort of SSL requirement for security purposes, and I don't want to switch every time that happens. That's just not acceptable, at least for me.

Besides, if other competing products support SSL, then the bottom line is that Humanware needs to step up to the plate and deal with the issue and provide SSL support. That's one more way that they can stay competitive.
