Dear all,
Well, I don't think you can download books onto the victor reader
stream directly.

Bobby

Hi List and Bob:
Bob, if you can download the books on the Mpower, why should
you need to buy a Victor Reader to put your Sd card in? If you
can download the book into the Mpower, and the Victor Reader is
showing, why would we need to buy the Reader to put the Sd card
in?
If this is true, I guess we won't be gett one, or reading
Victor Reader books!!

Dear Sammy,
You shouldn't need a Pc if you have an Mpower because of the SD
card support on the MPower. What you should be able to do is
download a book on the MPower put it on the SD card in the unit,
take the SD card out of the BrailleNote, put it into the victor
Reader stream and you are ready to go. Yes, we will need some
clarification from Humanware on this. I have only used SD cards
once but they should work just like any other drive on the
BrailleNote.

Bobby

ReaderandBrailleNoteuseability
Hello Joseph Lee,
I agree that the ability to use the Victor Reader by
connecting it to the Braille or Voice note is mentioned in Mr.
Sloane's announcement. But nowhere does it say that after we
purchase this reader we can download material directly to it,
using our Braille or Voice notes without first using a PC to put
the material on an SD card. Our concern is that those of us
without computers won't be able to use this feature in our
devices and will find it taking up space in our flash or keysoft
drives, but will be of no use to us.
I understand that many people who are computer savvy have
little empathy for those of us who for whatever reason can't use
a computer, but we would appreciate a little respect when we
voice our concerns. And it would be respectful to answer our
questions fully, explaining why certain features can be used only
if we have a computer. In my opinion, there are many features in
every upgrade which I find absolutely useless, but they come with
the upgrade and don't require additional, costly equipment to use
them. So a simple comprehensive answer from Humanware should be
an obligation to computerless users.

andBrailleNoteuseability
Hi there,
Actually, Victor Reader technology is already built in (if you
look at Information item under Main Menu, you'll see that Victor
Reader is there).
Cheers,
Joseph P.S. And the price is for the new Victor Reader Stream
(if I'm correct). I believe Victor Reader Soft is around $99.00
(Brian, can you please clarify on this whole subject?).

Subject: [Braillenote] Question concerning Victor Reader and
BrailleNoteuseability
Hi List:
Here's another question. Since you apparently need to buy a
Victor reader, do you have to use it in conjunction with the PC?
This would be the one for, I believe $329.00. If so, what about
for those who don't own a PC and feel that the capability should
be available on their laptop--the BrailleNote? If you have to
have a PC, how does this make the Victor Reader accessible for
BrailleNote users? I think we all have to understand that, in
this world of choices, not everyone chooses to have a PC.
Any help you could give would be very much appreciated.
