Terry, GPRS, as it's called, whereby you connect to the internet, usually through bluetooth, and your phone acts as a modem. The difference between this and standard dial-up is that you only pay for what you send and receive, so reading is free, as it were. However, some service providers, in fact most do nowadays, offer packages whereby you either get a fixed amount of megabytes for a certain price per month, or you get free unlimited access for a fixed amount per month.
