Well when you buy an SMA, it is true there is no guarantee as to when the upgrades it covers will be released. Since you can buy an SMA and have it cover an upgrade right up until the day before the update is released, I suppose you could buy your SMA only once an upgrade has been announced but not yet released. This of course presumes you will have the money or available credit limit on your card available when the update is announced. True they've had the use of your money for a good long while, also true you're getting two for the price of one. But you also are getting the peace of mind that the next paid for upgrade is prepaid and you won't have to scramble to get the money to buy an SMA before it is released.
