The full version of Duxbury doesn't include a grade 3 braille table. The
code hasn't been adopted anywhere and its original purpose was to allow
people to take notes faster with their slates and braillers.
Grade 3 braille was very helpful before the days of the BrailleNote and PC,
but I have stopped using it now.
As far as translation goes, you can translate text into grade 1 or grade 2
but you cannot translate a grade 2 braille file into grade 1 without first
translating it into text.

Why doesn't HumanWare have grade 3 braille as an option on the
BrailleNote?
I have heard that grade 3 braille is mainly for note taking but what if I
wrote notes down in class in grade 3 braille and then I had to print off
the notes and turn them in? If grade 3 braille was an option on the
BrailleNote then I could just translate the notes in to either grade 2 or
grade 1, (just like you can translate grade 2 in to grade 1 or grade 1 in
to grade 2) and print it off that way so the printer knows what to print.
I don't know how easy this would be to put grade 3 braille in to the
BrailleNote but I think it would be a cool feature for those of us who
want to write in short hand.
Thanks! P. S. Grade 3 braille is exactly the same as grade 2 braille
with more contractions so I wouldn't think it would be that hard to put in
to the BrailleNote.
