There are two parts to each download, the install key (the .exe file you download from the SDW site) and a file called nk.bin. The key is run on your BN to tell the machine that it is okay to upgrade whenever you actually upgrade. The nk.bin file is the binary image (the information that is keysoft itself) that is written to the BN's memory during the upgrade process. Your BN will not upgrade if you have no key, and even with a key you cannot actually run the upgrade with no nk.bin file. HW charges you for the key (since without it you could not upgrade anyway). HTH.

Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] Downloading KeySoft 7.5

Hello all,

Can we download the upgrade to KeySoft 7.5?

I thought KeySoft 7.5 costs a SMA, so how can HumanWare charge
you for the SMA when you download the upgrade?

Just would like to clear this up in my head.
