Ethan, In case these didn't really answer your question, the download is only available through a secure site that is specific to your serial number. That is how you will download it. It will not be available on the main site.

The key is run on your BN to tell the machine that it is okay to upgrade whenever you actually upgrade. The nk.bin file is the binary image (the information that is keysoft itself) that is written to the BN's memory during the upgrade process. Your BN will not upgrade if you have no key, and even with a key you cannot actually run the upgrade with no nk.bin file. HW charges you for the key (since without it you could not upgrade anyway).
