Well, from experience as well as confirmation of others on the
list when using UEB there isn't the back translation issue of
going from BRAILLE to text. For some odd reason it is present
with US Braille though. I am actually using my PK to write this
message using UEB. Z you may notice there aren't any back
translation issues. If there are any issues it may be a matter
of being very new to UEB or typos.
S, if you are planning on using UEB, I would go ahead and perform
the upgrade as the biggest issue issue lies in back translating
with anything other than UEB.

Hi as a user of Ueb I can say that the problems people are having
will still happen with Ueb. Ueb has not removed the contractions
people are having problems with. For example the letter sign
contractions are still the same like c for can and y for you.
And th still stands for this.
Now those are some of the contractions I have seen going wrong,
so I can say that it won't change if you use Ueb.
I am waiting for a fix to be found before I upgrade because I
like using my Pk for email and most people I send messages to
know nothing about braille so won't know what I'm talking about
if the translation goes wrong. I am really disappointed about
this because I was really looking forward to the Ueb.

I think the bug is a political issue. HumanWare wants to force
everyone to
use UEB. The full version of DBT 10.6 works perfectly. That's
why I have
come to the conclusion HumanWare botched things up on purpose.

John, this might be because of the serious translation bug
experienced by
others. I hope this will be fixed very shortly, as I'm planning
to delay
my upgrade now because of this, as I was hoping to use Keymail

see a point of upgrading for the time being. I respect
Humanware, and they
do a great job, but this bug has clearly been overlooked (I
