Main stream companies make mistakes too.

Years ago, General Mills introduced a cereal called Buttercups
and the commercial showed kids picking Buttercups in a meadow and
eating them.

The next day the president of General Mills received a telephone
call from a very concerned person who said that Buttercups are
deadly poison to man and beast and cattle won't touch them.

The president of General Mills looked into this on a priority
basis, found the caller was correct and immediately went on TV to
tell parents to return the Buttercups cereal they had bought for
a full refund and recalled each and every box of the stuff his
firm had made!

Our telegraph company in Canada, CNCP Telecommunications at the
time, now A. T. and T. Canada, years ago developed and introduced
a brand new service called Laser FAX.

But I'd say they were about five years too late, as most people
who wanted to send FAX had their own machine.

Seems the marketplace agreed with me and the brand new service
that cost them a mint to implement and advertise went over like a
lead balloon!

I mentioned this and a few other mistakes the firm had made to
one of their product managers and he said as he cringed at the
thoughts I was reminding him of I had much too long a memory.

Nobody's perfect! But Humanware is trying.
