Maurice,
I occasionally receive error messages when sending or receiving
messages as well. I am not using gmail, nor am I using a mail
server that requires SSL. I have mainly noticed receiving this
error message when using my SanDisk WiFi plus 128MB card, I am
going through a non-secured NetGear router.

Subject: [Braillenote] Gmail Settings
List,
There has been a number of people reporting that they get an
"Incorrect
function" error when using Gmail on the BrailleNote.
Our investigations would suggest that the error is being caused
by
incorrect port settings:
Gmail requires the POP port to be set to 995 and the SMTP port to
be set to
465. You can also use 587 for the SMTP port.
Maurice
