Oh dear, sounds quite serious then. This had better be fixed in the next
upgrade.

Subject: [Braillenote] true Word documents

Dear Janand List,

When you create a Word file using the BN, the extension will be .doc. But
if you transfer that same file to your PC and open it, your PC will
recognize the file as a rich text format file. When I go to the save as
dialog box and tab once, the combo box says it is a rich text file, not a
Microsoft Word file.

If I try to open a Word file created on the BN using DBT 10.6, Duxbury won't
import the file because "it is not a supported file type." Duxbury supports
Word files, but it doesn't support rich text files.

Therefore, the BN does not, in fact, create true Word documents.
