Those port values are specifically for the pop and SMTP servers. You
need to configure the modem itself.

Subject: [Braillenote] MODEM CONNECTION

I am helping a friend set up a new Voicenote. She has the new
software, but I don't. We are both in the UK.

We have configured our machines identically, but mine works and
hers doesn't. When she tries to send and receive e-mail, her
machine pauses, and then comes up with a message like "can't find
port, check modem is connected". It does not dial out.

I seem to remember reading on this list that you need to change
the ports in the new software. Mine works, and uses pop port
110, smtp port 25. Am I right?

Can anyone help?
